Mark Shaw is the Director of Hardware Engineering for Hardware Infrastructure in Microsoft's Cloud+Enterprise Division, responsible for the architecture and hardware designs of Compute & Storage platforms utilized in Azure's cloud scale services. Mark led the architecture and development of Microsoft's first Open CloudServer, a high-density compute platform targeting search and big data applications. Mark and team have subsequently delivered two more Open CloudServer generations that have been deployed at massive scale across a global fleet of data centers. The Open CloudServer has been fully Open Sourced into the Open Compute Project (OCP). Mark's team is responsible for delivering leading-edge technology as the SmartNIC FPGA accelerator.
