About the conference

Since 2014, Y Combinator’s Female Founders Conference has been helping women who want to start and run their startups.  The event created a platform where successful women
could share their stories and advice with female founders, co-founders, female CTOs, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and other women building products, tools, applications, and services  - who are just getting started their way to even more successful women-led companies.

Headliners

Mariya Nurislamova

CEO & Co-Founder at Scentbird
Mariya Nurislamova is Founder of Scentbird Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. She has a strong vision for Scentbird, a clear understanding of the tech industry, as well as a great nose and the ability to translate fragrance into moving visuals. She is a Speed Reading Coach and danced Ballroom professionally for 8 years- but her true passion is Perfume. She moved to NYC from her native Russia, began a scent blog and started Scentbird in early 2013 by running “Scent Discovery Soirees” (perfume “tasting” events where got tipsy on perfume instead of wine!). Prior to starting Scentbird, she was Chief Operating Officer of Neuvey, an IT outsourcing company, and co-founded Beta Week - an invite only IT conference based in Moscow. She has a background in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Marketing.

As CEO & Founder at The Muse - one of Fast Company's 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World - I spend every day helping create the future of work. I'm deeply passionate about building loved and trusted products that help individuals navigate their careers and help organizations attract - and keep - great people.

I'm also a believer in investing deeply in company culture to build an organization that lasts, and sharing lessons learned - the wins and the not-so-much's - to help other companies do the same. From our "baby at work" policy to flexible schedules at The Muse, we strive to create a warm and inclusive, high performing working environment that redefines what a fast growth startup looks like.
