The CBCF Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) is the leading policy conference on issues impacting African Americans and the global black community. Thought leaders, legislators and concerned citizens engage on economic development, civil and social justice, public health and education issues. More than 10,000 people attend 100 public policy forums and much more.

Frederica Wilson

Congresswoman at U.S. House of Representatives
Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson represents Florida’s 24th Congressional District, which includes northwest Miami-Dade and southern Broward counties.
As a former elementary school principal, school board member; state legislator; and founder of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, Congresswoman Wilson has earned a reputation as a “Voice for the Voiceless.” She also leads the Bring Back Our Girls movement in Congress to help ensure that the Nigerian schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram in 2014 are not forgotten.

The Florida lawmaker chairs the Education and Labor Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions and serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Cedric Richmond

Representative at U.S. House of Representatives
Congressman Cedric Richmond represents Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Cedric is the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus and currently serves on the House Committee on Homeland Security and the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Cedric is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, and his Juris Doctorate from the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans.

Hank Johnson

Congressman at U.S. House of Representatives
In his seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives for the Fourth Congressional District of Georgia, which encompasses parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett and Newton counties and all of Rockdale County, Congressman Hank Johnson has distinguished himself as a substantive, effective lawmaker and a leading national progressive voice. Prior to taking his seat in Congress in 2006, he practiced criminal defense law in Georgia for twenty-seven years, served twelve years as a magistrate judge, and five years as a county commissioner. Rep. Johnson is married to DeKalb County Commissioner Mereda Davis Johnson and has two adult children.
