George Mocsary

Professor of Law at University of Wyoming
George Mocsary joined the University of Wyoming in the July of 2019. Prior to his appointment at Wyoming, he served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Southern Illinois University School of Law, and spent two years as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. He entered academia after having practiced corporate and bankruptcy law at Cravath, Swaine and Moore in New York. Before that, he clerked for the Honorable Harris L. Hartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Professor Mocsary holds a J.D. from Fordham Law School where he graduated first in his class and summa cum laude. He also served as Notes and Articles Editor of the Fordham Law Review, and was the recipient of the Benjamin Finkel Prize for Excellence in Bankruptcy and Fordham Law Alumni Association Medal in Constitutional Law. Before going to law school, Professor Mocsary earned his M.B.A. from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business and ran a successful management consulting practice.

Professor Mocsary is a co-author of Firearms Law and the Second Amendment: Regulation, Rights, and Policy (2nd ed. 2017), the first casebook on its topic. He has also published in the George Washington Law Review, George Mason Law Review, Fordham Law Review, and other journals. His work has been cited by the Supreme Court of the United States.

Matthew Kaufman

Attorney/Partner at Hathaway & Kunz, LLP
As a partner with Hathaway & Kunz, P.C, Matt’s practice focuses on business, corporate, technology and litigation matters. Matt regularly represents and advises clients on matters and transactions ranging from entity formations, financings and operational issues, to intellectual property protection, mergers and acquisitions, crypto/blockchain offerings, and regulatory compliance and contractual disputes.

Additionally, Matt has received his LLM degree from the University of Colorado in entrepreneurial law, which has equipped him to provide more highly skilled representation to entrepreneurs, start-ups and emerging companies, as well as established businesses and companies, on more complex business transactions and strategies. Matt has been selected as one of the Mountain States SuperLawyer “Rising Stars” from 2012-2019.

Matt also has significant experience representing clients in various types of litigation, and regularly appears before various State and Federal Courts in Wyoming. Matt has been selected by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 40 Under 40 for the State of Wyoming.

Emma Channing

Founder, CEO & General Counsel at Satis Group LLC
I am a Fintech, Blockchain and Digital Asset expert and have written for Coindesk and spoken at Ethereal, SXSW, Block FS, Cyber Symposium, Fluidity and Token Summit to name a few, as well as regularly testifying before the Wyoming Blockchain Task Force and other governmental bodies. My Digital Assets experience broadly covers STOs, blockchain-for-capital-markets, custody, Stablecoins, CBDCs, digital identity and various aspects of compliance for all of that. I am currently the Founder, CEO and General Counsel of the Satis Group and I am also a FINRA Registered Representative holding the Series 63 and 79 at ConsenSys Digital Securities LLC.

My background is as an attorney admitted in the UK and US (CA, CO and NY) - with significant in-house and firm experience, who has honed the role of strategic advisor to Boards and C-Suites for many years. After many years in start ups, I have a strong skill set for working with engineers and other experts to end up at a holistic product result: successful, compliant and robust. In addition to digital assets, I have significant experience across a broad range of areas including global capital markets, corporate finance, M&A, regulatory issues including broker dealer compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, antitrust laws, fund formation, employment and privacy laws. In addition, I have significant US experience regarding IPOs, public company reporting, high yield debt, novel securitizations, and private placements.
