Kim Martin

Data Centric Technical Leader / Tech Advisor / Genie at Netflix
Kim Martin has been a professional computer scientist for 20 years specializing in data engineering, machine learning, and tech leadership. She has spent her career working on complex big data problems for organizations across the education, entertainment, finance, robotics, and travel domains. She’s created big data solutions, recommendation engines, and custom search applications for the Department of Defense, Cubic, BandPage, Avis/Budget, Eli Lilly, the Architect of the Capitol, and HBO among others. Kim is a former YouTuber and Googler, who now innovates at Netflix by leading the Platform Data Science and Engineering team tackling some of the hardest infrastructure problems on the planet.

Kim holds a BS in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications (Physical Computing) from New York University, and an MS in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning) from UMass Amherst. She is an avid golfer, a mediocre pianist, and a passionate advocate for gender and ethnic diversity in tech.

Ally Tubis

SVP, Data & Analytics at Fusion Media Group
Ally is a data leader who is invested in building data driven cultures to make data accessible and integrated. Her life’s work has been devoted to driving innovation, shaping growth strategies and optimizing user experience through data. She believes the human element is critical as a data leader, from hiring to modeling to storytelling so the data can be actionable and digestible.

Currently, she leads the insights team under Customer Modeling for Disney Streaming Services focused on retaining and engaging ESPN+, Disney+ and Bundle (incl. Hulu) subscribers. In her previous role, she paved new roads to understanding audience behavior to build a data driven strategy across the digital businesses at Univision, Gizmodo Media Group and Story House Entertainment. She has a proven track record of re-imagining the role of data to provide insights that influence growth initiatives while growing engagement and ensuring that all voices and stakeholders are heard.

Ally is passionate about learning and has taught at Columbia University both in Economics and on data in the newsroom. She’s an active member in the data science community in New York, and has spoken with Women in Big Data Panel with Disney, General Assembly, NYC Media Lab, keynote at SpeakHer, Digital Content Expo in Berlin and others. She’s an advocate for diversity and inclusion and moderates the Own Your Voice women’s circle at Disney.

Ilke Demir

Senior Research Scientist at Intel Corporation
Dr. Ilke Demir earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University, focusing on 3D vision approaches for generative models, urban reconstruction and modeling, and computational geometry for synthesis and fabrication. Afterwards, she joined Facebook as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist working with Ramesh Raskar from MIT. Her research included human behavior analysis and deep learning approaches in virtual reality, geospatial machine learning, and 3D reconstruction at scale. In addition to her publications in top-tier venues (SIGGRAPH, ICCV, CVPR), she has organized workshops, competitions, and courses in the intersection of deep learning, computer vision, and graphics. She has received several awards and honors such as Jack Dangermond Award, Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship, IEEE Industry Distinguished Lecturer, and GHC Fellow, in addition to her best paper/poster/reviewer awards. Currently she is a Senior Research Scientist at Intel, leading the computer vision and deep learning research in the world’s largest volumetric capture stage.
