About the Event

At BitGive Foundation were among the earliest believers that cryptocurrency could be used to change the world for good.

On conference were inviting thought leaders from around the globe to meet virtually and share the many ways that crypto and blockchain can dramatically transform people’s lives for the better.

The De-Phi (Decentralized Philanthropy) Crypto for Good Conference was the first of its kind featuring and highlighting the people, projects, and organizations who were genuinely and actively leveraging bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology to help others and improve our world.

Jordan Kruger

CEO & Co-founder at Vesper
Jordan is the Head of DeFi at Bloq, an enterprise blockchain company. She is the Managing Director of Metronome, a fully autonomous digital asset as well as Co-founder of Vesper, a DeFi platform focused on blending ease-of-use, professionalism, and community.
Jordan has a background in data science and first started researching blockchain related problems during graduate school at Georgetown University, where she earned a Masters of Science in Bioinformatics. In addition, Jordan serves as a research fellow at the Chamber of Digital Commerce. She was named one of the 30 most influential and interesting women to follow in Blockchain technology.

Bernhard Kowatsch

Head of Innovation Accelerator at WFP
Bernhard Kowatsch is the Head of the Innovation Accelerator at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), which he founded in 2015. The Accelerator has been awarded the “Best workplace for innovators and innovative team of the year 2020” and also made it to 2nd place of Fast Company's “Most Innovative Not-For-Profit organizations” for 2021. The Accelerator sources, nurtures and scales start-ups and non-profits that disrupt global hunger. In 2020, the innovation and startup portfolio positively impacted the lives of 3.7 million people (+160% vs. 2019) and has raised a total of $118M of grant funding.
The Accelerator has supported more the 90 innovations with funding, runs programmes for external partners such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Humanitarian Grand Challenges and other UN Agencies, and just celebrated its 5-year anniversary. The now-60+ member team represents over 30 countries and speaks more than 20 unique languages.
Bernhard is a regular speaker at tech conferences and global events on tech for good, blockchain, artificial intelligence, social entrepreneurship and technologies disrupting global hunger, e.g. Mobile World Congress, AI For Good XPRIZE Global Summit, SXSW, UN General Assembly events, World Economic Forum, XPRIZE Visioneering and numerous UN and government events

He is a pioneer in the national effort to transform the way our culture evaluates the character and impact of nonprofit organizations. It has been translated into 27 languages and continues to be viewed over 1,000 times a
day by people all over the world. His 2016 TED talk on being has been viewed more than 2 million times. He is one of the 100 most-viewed TED speakers of all time. He is a founding thought partner for TED’s Audacious Project, which has raised nearly $1 billion for disruptive entrepreneurial social initiatives across a variety of issues. He invented the multi- day charitable event industry. He created the Breast Cancer 3-Day walks and the multi-day AIDS Rides long-distance cycling journeys, which raised in excess of half a billion dollars in nine years and were the subject of a Harvard Business School case study. The model and methods he created are now employed by dozens of charities and have raised in excess of $1.5 billion more for important causes from pediatric leukemia to AIDS to suicide prevention and many others.
