About the Event

The MIT Bitcoin Expo was one of the largest and most revered academic blockchain conferences in the world. In the past, the MIT Bitcoin Expo has been co-organized with HackMIT, MIT Society of Women Engineers, MIT Bitcoin Club, and the Blockchain Education Network.

Director of Research at Fidelity Digital Assets
Ria Bhutoria is Director of Research at Fidelity Digital Assets where she conducts research and analysis on the digital asset ecosystem for clients. Previously, Ria led the efforts at Circle Research where she published sell-side style research on the market. Prior, she was an equity research analyst at Credit Suisse covering the FinTech and Payments sector.

Ethan Heilman

Founder at Commonwealth Crypto
Ethan Heilman is the CTO/Co-Founder of Commonwealth Crypto and PhD student at Boston University. Ethan has worked as an engineer at a several startups and is the author of over 10 technical papers on cryptocurrency, blockchain, cryptography, and network security. He is an inventor of the TumbleBit protocol and several of his contributions have been merged into Bitcoin Core. In his spare time, he enjoys breaking hash functions.

Andrew Poelstra

Director of Research at Blockstream
Andrew Poelstra is Director of Research at Blockstream. He has been part of the Bitcoin community since 2011. In 2013 he joined Greg Maxwell and Pieter Wuille (later Blockstream co-founders) developing the high-performance cryptography library libsecp256k1, which underlies most of the Bitcoin ecosystem including Bitcoin Core. As a researcher, his main focus has been on improving the privacy and scalability of cryptocurrency networks. In this capacity, he has helped develop several important privacy and scalability technologies, including Confidential Transactions, MuSig and Scriptless Scripts.
