Global Fintech Design Summit 2021 is the first business event in the world dedicated to fintech design.
Each day of the conference was split into two stages, which had honed in on the unique experience needs across the Business to Consumer and Business to Business sides of the FinTech market. Drawing on real-world experiences and learnings from leading FinTech’s around the planet, our conference aimed to deliver practical tools and frameworks which you can apply to your own work.
Rich Bessel is the Head of Design at Robinhood, the Silicon Valley startup that disrupted the US brokerage industry with Commission-Free trading. He’s been a design leader in the Fintech world for over 7 years, notably at Intuit TurboTax, reimagining the US tax preparation experience; also helping small businesses manage accounting at Intuit QuickBooks. At Robinhood, Rich has helped lead through a significant growth phase, scaling out Brand and Product design teams.
Prashanthi Ravanavarapu leads PayPal's Consumer Financial Services Product. In her current role, she leads the teams focused on building products to improve customers financial health across the globe. Prior to this, she was PayPal's Product Architect leading product innovation to solve the needs of the financially underserved. Prashanthi’s mission is to put a dent on global poverty through democratizing financial services for all. She believes in the intersection of profit and purpose and is enabling that at PayPal by bringing human centered design, lean and behavioral science to product innovation. She has had various roles in Data, Architecture, Strategy and Product Management. Prashanthi was named as one of the most influential women in Payments in 2019. In addition, she is a change agent and an intrapreneur. She has founded several programs like Opportunity Hack to create opportunities for more people to enable impact through their skills. She is currently pioneering a group around "Justice By Design" that brings inclusive design and design ethics into Product design.
As a designer and team leader, Rowland has created businesses, services, products and branded experiences in real estate, architecture, financial services, the arts, consumer packaged goods, retail, and fashion. Previously, Rowland led design and innovation at Teneo, the CEO advisory firm. Prior, he was head of product design for Accenture North America. He founded Post+Beam, an innovation design firm, and Linea, a beautiful, computer vision driven photo sharing app. He started his career at Ruder Finn where he founded their global digital marketing capabilities. Today, Rowland leads the world's first loyalty platform for renters at Stake. He holds an M.A. in philosophy from K.U. Leuven, Belgium, and a B.A from Sarah Lawrence College. He is deeply passionate about social advocacy, and has irrational love for popcorn.
