Mary Lacity

Professor of Information Systems and Director of the Blockchain Center of Excellence at Sam M. Walton College of Business at The University of Arkansas
She was previously Curators' Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri. She has held visiting positions at MIT, the London School of Economics, Washington University, and Oxford University. She is a Certified Outsourcing Professional and Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly Executive. Her research focuses on the delivery of business and IT services through global sourcing and automation using Robotic Process Automation, Cognitive Automation, and Blockchains. She has conducted case studies and surveys of hundreds of organizations on their outsourcing and management practices. She has given keynote speeches and executive seminars worldwide and has served as an expert witness for the US Congress. She was inducted into the IAOP's Outsourcing Hall of Fame in 2014, one of only three academics to ever be inducted.

She has published 30 books, most recently Blockchain Fundamentals for the Internet of Value. Her publications have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, MIS Quarterly, MIS Quarterly Executive, IEEE Computer, Communications of the ACM, and many other academic and practitioner outlets.

Ever since I submitted my space settlement design project along with a debris destruction capability model to a competition held by NASA for high school students, I knew what my area of interest was. Risk Management, has interested me like none other. After my undergraduate study, I worked as an Advisory Analyst at Deloitte for 2.5 years. Specialised in internal audit with experience in multiple SOC1, SOC2 and General IT Controls testing. Specific experience includes experience auditing Oracle, DB2, SQL server, AS400 databases, UNIX And Windows platforms. Knowledgeable of PCAOB audit standards for public companies as well as AICPA standards for non public companies. I am currently pursuing my MIS at UARK and am also very interested in data analysis. Working on various data analytics projects. This interest and experience with data analysis ans risk analysis and management have enabled me to look at and understand data better and draw insights and aid decision making.
