Andy Volk

Head of Developer & Startup Ecosystem, Sub-Saharan Africa at Google
Andy is the Head of Ecosystem for Sub-Saharan Africa at Google, leading a pan-African team focused on making Google the platform of choice for developers and startups across Africa through scalable, high-impact programs.

Andy is also an active investor and mentor to early-stage startups in emerging markets and disruptive technology sectors, having made over 40 seed-stage angel investments, is a Limited Partner with the venture capital funds Microtraction, Future Africa, and Weekend Fund, and is a graduate of the Venture Capital Executive Program at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

Sheel Mohnot

GP at Better Tomorrow Ventures
Sheel is a co-founder of Better Tomorrow, a $225M seed stage venture capital fund investing in Fintech companies globally. His own startup experience includes 2 successful FinTech exits – a payments company and a high-stakes auction company, and he is GP of the 500 Fintech fund. He formerly worked as a financial services consultant at BCG and started his FinTech career at the non-profit p2p lender Kiva.

Surabhi Nimkar

Partner at GreenHouse Capital
Surabhi (Ruby) Nimkar is a Principal at GreenHouse Capital, a Nigeria-based early-stage investor focused on the Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA regions. Ruby is primarily focused on Fintech and Enterprise Software, and is actively involved in GHC’s investment decisioning, having backed market champions such as Flutterwave, Helium Health, Migo, NowMoney, Indicina and several others.

Ruby’s efforts at GreenHouse Capital also include running a women entrepreneur acceleration program (GreenHouse Lab) that not only provides women founders with capital and resources, but a 250+ -strong network of women leaders globally. The program was the first of its kind on the continent of Africa to be backed by Google for Startups. This led to Ruby co-founding a syndicate vehicle that supports under-represented, immigrant founders globally.

Prior to GHC, Ruby was a Management Consultant at Accenture, operating across New York and London to drive digital strategy for financial services clients. Ruby earned a BA in Economics and Finance from Boston University and was recognized as a part of the Kauffman Fellowship.
