About the Event
Bitcoin Events 2nd virtual and 8th annual edition of the Blockchain Africa Conference was hosted on the 17 and 18 March 2022. The conference attracted 1964 attendees from 113 countries and facilitated discussions on the exciting opportunities and developments taking place in the African and global blockchain ecosystem.
Over the years, the conference themes have evolved and aligned with the global adoption of blockchain technology: ‘Moving Africa Forward’, ‘Beyond the Hype’, ‘From Hype to Mainstream’, with the 2022 theme as ‘Ready for Business?’.
The Blockchain Africa Conference 2022 comes alongside the growing collective sentiment and increases in the adoption of blockchain technology. Many private and public organizations are implementing the technology and leveraging it to develop robust, enterprise-ready solutions. The industry has matured, and as a result, it is less susceptible to hype and speculation.

Charles Hoskinson
Founder at Cardano
Charles Hoskinson is a Colorado-based technology entrepreneur and mathematician. He attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Colorado Boulder to study analytic number theory before moving into cryptography through industry exposure.
His professional experience includes founding three cryptocurrency-related start-ups – Invictus Innovations, Ethereum and IOHK – and he has held a variety of posts in both the public and private sectors. He was the founding chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation’s education committee and established the Cryptocurrency Research Group in 2013.
His current projects focus on educating people about cryptocurrency, being an evangelist for decentralization and making cryptographic tools easier to use for the mainstream. This includes leading the research, design and development of Cardano, a third-generation cryptocurrency that launched in September 2017, which now has hundreds of projects being built on the Cardano network.

Misha Lederman
Director of Communication at Klever Finance
Misha Lederman serves as the Director of Communication for Klever Finance, working alongside an outstanding team of writers, marketers, designers and analysts to educate the public and raise global awareness on the benefits of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. A political economist by education, Misha hosts the weekly show Klever Live, where he speaks with the most interesting voices in crypto, Bitcoin and the Klever ecosystem. Misha also holds a Master Degree in Security and Diplomatic Communication from Tel Aviv University, and has worked in communication, risk management and cybersecurity for the past decade.
