Human Resources Management
My remote career started in 2011 after returning to the US from Spain. I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to settle down, so I searched for roles that I could do wherever I decided to hang my hat. I got my first remote role in edtech on a hybrid team, and I was hooked.
From the beginning, I believed remote work had enormous benefits for employees and employers alike, but I also saw that there were persistent barriers to the widespread adoption of remote work. In 2017, I founded Workplaceless to provide transformational learning experiences to teams to overcome those barriers.
Now, we’re a fully remote company supporting organizations worldwide as they prepare their employees for a remote and hybrid present and future. We guide individual contributors, managers, and executives in navigating the complexities of distributed teams, including balancing asynchronous and synchronous communication, ensuring equitable outcomes regardless of location, managing performance, and building a remote learning culture.
Personally, remote work has given me many gifts—including finding a new hometown in Winchester, Virginia, in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The flexibility of remote work allows me to truly live in my community, spending time connecting, exploring, and giving back.
