Amy T. Margolis has been an attorney for more than 17 years and is the founder of the Oregon Cannabis Association, one of the largest state cannabis trade groups in the United States. She frequently advises both businesses and investors on deploying capital, multi-jurisdtictional growth, public offerings and every other stage of business and corporate development. Ms. Margolis also started The Initiative, a business accelerator established to help female founded businesses succeed, and find funding, in the cannabis space.
Having touched the industry for more than two decades, Ms. Margolis has spoken across the country and internationally on cannabis policy, infrastructure creation, implementation of medical and adult use legalization models and investment strategies. She has also produced dozens of cannabis events- from educational events to the nationally recognized "Summer Fair".
Ms. Margolis was recently named by Cannabis Business Executive as one of the 2017's 100 most powerful political people in cannabis as well as one of the 50 most important women in cannabis in 2016 and 2017. She has been named by the Business Journal one of the 40 under 40 to watch in Oregon politics, one of the 12 Pioneering Women of Cannabis by Stoner Magazine and one of the 10 Most Influential Women by Herb Magazine. She has also been named as a Super Lawyer since 2011.
Amy McClintick has been a key player on the Cura team since its inception. After starting in Sales Operations, Amy is a shining example of what it looks like to grow with the company and industry. Moving from her previous role as Chief Operating Officer, Amy is essential to the Cura team and comes with in-depth knowledge of the cannabis industry, operations, compliance and regulations. In addition, Amy has proven the ability to fast track the company into new markets. Under Amy’s direction, Cura's new internationally-based team has become a focused and powerful team of superstars achieving history-breaking sales numbers.
Prior to Cura, Amy built a 15-year independent career in the study and practice of holistic medicine – a personal passion that has proven to enhance her positive influence on Cura’s path forward. Amy’s multi-platform career experience includes specialization within management and business operations, with notable top-performance awards within tech sales and food & beverage distribution.
Amy graduated from the University of Idaho with degrees in Marketing and Political Science. She is a native of Idaho, but has made Portland her home since 2005. She is a wine connoisseur and in what little spare time she has, runs a wine tasting club.
The cannabis space provides the first real opportunity in a generation to build an industry with equity at the forefront of the conversation. In order to create an industry where women are policy leaders, executives and wealth creators, cannabis will need to defy the gender norms we see expressed in every single other industry.
Each and every time we further gender parity in this space, the lessons learned from building a balanced industry are directly applicable to already established industries, like tech and finance, where men traditionally dominate.
