About speakers

Laura Fox is currently the Market Manager for Lyft's Bikes and Scooters business in New York City, and oversees strategy, growth, operations, marketing, and the local P&L for a micromobility fleet that includes Citi Bike. Laura is also an adjunct professor of MBA strategy at NYU Stern School of Business.

Prior to joining Lyft, Laura worked for Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company dedicated to building the city of the future through urban technologies and comprehensive development. Before that, Laura worked for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she led strategy and digital venture projects for urban mobility, technology, and cultural organizations. In parallel, she edited a book on bottom-up urban development principles ("Order Without Design" by Alain Bertaud) and delivered a TED talk on the role of curiosity and ignorance in the creative process.

Earlier in her career, Laura managed cross-functional teams of strategists, designers, and engineers to create digital strategies and products in the Americas, Middle East, and Asia. This included working for public and social sector organizations such as the Qatar Museums Authority, Mexico City Department of Housing, World Wildlife Fund, and BRAC.

Laura holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from New York University (NYU), Stern School of Business. Originally from Chicago, Laura is most comfortable when she is uncomfortable, and learning something new.

Britt Zaffir is the Director of Real Estate at Common, the leading residential brand enhancing the value of real estate by offering convenience and community to city-dwellers around the country. She joined the Common team in early 2016, perfectly blending her prior roles at the intersection of hospitality, real estate and technology. Britt started her career at Monitor Deloitte, where she consulted for major companies in the hospitality sector before joining a boutique real estate investment fund in Canada. Most recently, she spent some time at Airbnb, working on strategic planning and analysis for the local operations and marketing teams, where she was focused on finding and scaling operational efficiencies. Today, Britt works with real estate partners to expand Common’s residential and technology platform, which currently spans five cities and 20 homes across the U.S. To her, working at Common means finding a pragmatic real estate solution to fix social, economic and health issues that our society faces today. Most recently, Britt worked on a ground-up 221-bed project with Wisznia and the New Orleans local government to bring affordable workforce housing to renters across the city. Britt graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School and an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. In her spare time, Britt loves to read and travel, trying delicious foods in new cities.
