About the talk
In 2018, Imran Khan launched the Plant for Pakistan campaign to plant 10 billion trees across the country. Pakistan is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, and in recent years, floods have forced millions from their homes. Trees reduce flooding by strengthening riverbanks, and preventing soil erosion. Trees also mitigate global warming by absorbing CO2. Countries across the world are reforesting to combat climate change. Here, the Prime Minister of Pakistan explains what inspired him to join in.

What I loved about Pakistan was at Wilderness Mountain. I'm so As with age I saw these mountains are these these these? And especially the way we destroyed a forest cover. I always resolve the second thing that if I ever got the opportunity, I would make sure that we we Preserve Discord given beauty of a country and we start a reforestation campaign. I'm Against All Odds we did it. It was no one expected it to happen, but be involved in local communities.
We first made them understand how important trees were for the future. We met the people understand the Pakistan was very vulnerable to climate change. And we appeal to the people women in the in the mountainous areas to grow nurseries and in our country's history of for the station to what I begin to prime minister. I deserve the people plant 10 billion trees in Pakistan in the next 4 years.
