About the talk
Many of the largest public cloud deployments of Citrix technologies run on Microsoft’s innovative and mature public cloud infrastructure, Azure, and many more enterprises are considering doing the same. This session will provide insight into how you can successfully deploy and manage Citrix technologies on Azure. Topics include the anatomy of a Citrix on Azure solution, recent and upcoming technology enhancements from Citrix and Microsoft, and best-of-breed solution design patterns that work. We’ll also cover getting started with Citrix on Azure, gotchas and issues to be aware of, and automation tooling and accelerator programs available to kick-start your implementation. If you’re interested in running Citrix on Azure, you don’t want to miss this session!Note: This session will be available for on-demand viewing post-event on Citrix Synergy TV.
Okay. Alright, welcome everybody. Thanks for coming out last night. As soon as the day have one steals mostly awake my is Michael Cooper. I've Got Away with Me lyrics on Azure and and Microsoft in general two things. I want to point out as you guys cuz you can laugh at them as they happen the way and I've been doing this session in this content for about six years now both as Microsoft employees and its employees many Microsoft employees in his District employees. The only we've never done is a 100 level version of this session. So we will be kicking each other from time to
time if it gets too much into the weeds cuz that's where we do like to stay. So we are the sections listed as 102 are best to stay there or close but there is some technical space in here was hard not to be a little down below second thing to watch work just because the way is away and that's what he does. He think he's doing all this demos live and he is connected into Azure right now to do those demos. And so pray to the dental gods that it all work. But that's just what he does. And so what I do want to talk to his we're going to talk to you about such a partnership.
What is azure why such a place as your understanding the key Citrus Solutions on Azure, we're going to take a little bit of a deep dive into Microsoft and Citrix tool specifically around see bad Citrix virtual laptops and desktops run running on Azure. And again, we're going to try and stay High Times. We're going to go to low it's not our fault, but we will again try and stay around the outer level vs. What the cistern system was was tagged as I'm so we do want to call out the the overall partnership that is Citrix in Microsoft. We are 100% confident in this statement that we
do think. It's the most powerful partnership in the industry and I can show you a couple of reasons why and why are then matters to Azure in general 25 + your partnership we shared joint customer base, and we've been working together for In about 90% of the Fortune 100 400,000 joint customers and tens of millions of users The Core Business. It's always been and turns does an app which is that they already asked the terminal Services stop that business is still actually groaning and headed to record year this year with in Microsoft is now over a billion dollar
business just to Microsoft just the Core Business which is which is the terminal services for but there's a lot more that we do overall. We have commitments with her within each other and Engineering agreements within each other for J1 support of most Microsoft major releases you sauce that was server 19. Is it shifting or sea that with w e d as Microsoft ships Citrix worship at the same time and that studio very tight partnership between us. The other thing that is important to note and kind of fun to think about Citrix in a different way. Citrus does is based
most of its Cloud Solutions on azure. Easy statement to say but let me explain to you what that means Citrix is one of the 10 largest consumers of azure on planet Earth. We are one of the biggest users of azure where you talk about any of that advanced Microsoft and Azure Services Cosmos DB machine learning. Yep. That's us so we have one of the largest cause most of these installs on the planet. If you want to build Microsoft primary conference about developing and developing Cloud solutions. They highlight Citrix as an example of how to do cloud services and how
to build cloud services on services like machine learning and Cosmos DB. So everything they were talking about isn't just Trusting your Solutions on it. We're trusting our Solutions on it to that extends to other Partnerships with in Microsoft and cones in terms of s d y n a t C & W B D, which I'm going to get into here in just a second. So the partnership in our opinion has never been stronger and has never been never been deeper. One thing I do need to point out. There are three
clouds of Microsoft. Three not one. So a lot of people think Azure and Microsoft cloud of the same thing. They're not as your is one of Microsoft's Cloud. They also have M365 which is our modern workplace Cloud. That's office. That's Outlook. That's that's that's in tune in the touch about pain at this isn't as your sessions are going to go deep on the address. I'd not the modern workplace died, but citric has Integrations and ties to all of it and modern workplace as your anyone catching on that. I only names to the cloud. What's the third cloud in Microsoft? Dynamics don't forget in
Microsoft people get to so those are the break into what that looks like until there's an overall Solutions in conversations as your modern desktop Microsoft 365 and then if you look at it in terms of the build-out the sessions you've been seeing the contents, you've been having the conversations. You've been having with Citrix. We line to almost every single thing that Microsoft's doing as it's in his journey to cloud and it's a really fun time to be in this partnership because everything is changing really fast if we into the specifics, which
is hay the Azure side of it. So it's not in tune radio and the rest were just going to talk about Azure. So what is azure and why Citrix plus Azure Microsoft slide What is azure 54 regions according to Microsoft in the the date is true that's more regions than the other two clouds that you know put together the Citrix cloud service is in every one of those regions. And so we use the power and breadth of azure to ensure that our service and solution is wherever you needed to be but that also means that you can use our services that is
Archer based to manage desktop server Solutions within Google or AWS or on-premise, but we insure them at our services as their infrastructure is is massive. Here's my favorite picture of azure, though, cuz everyone wants to say what it was like look like that's u.s. West to which is a major a journey to Center. There's somewhere around 350,000 servers in that complex. Hey that's impressive. That's big buildings of lots of service in them. That's not the thing. I like to point out. 304000 servers in their County parking spaces
admins per server in the cloud World in terms of scale and scope and what they're able to do in accomplished is just staggering. And they're not even helpful the the Automation and capabilities what they bring is pretty impressive. So instead of me telling you why such a Niger we do have a couple of great customer quotes by such a place as you're there saying it just makes sense and cut their customers understand it. It's a global scale and scope and it makes most of them are already using some Azure or Services until the tie their tie their matter same thing with with
with coretec where they're selling services to accompany. It's easy for them to say hey, do I trust your Cloud solution? Well, My Cloud solution is azure citric what size your that make sense. It's an easy way to then build out services that are can instantly trusted and understood from the organization. so what's talk through at a very high level cuz there's a lot of content and not a lot of time on what the core Citrix on Azure Solutions are and if you break them down between networking networking analytics and work space
in the networking side. There is a lot that we do with Azure today and it's one of the least most overlooked areas of the Microsoft Excel and as a partnership and primarily at ATC and SSD way in which we'll talk about it here in a second and and the SD when integration with Office 365 as well as Venus prednisones, which is probably previewing coming out here shortly. The best part of our networking Solutions is if you're a netscaler customer today and as you start moving your applications into a cloud be that Asher or AWS or
Google you get to use that ADC technology and two Easily Bridge your applications from on-premise in the cloud and you can do that in the hybrid way. And Lou is going to show you that within the terms of the desktop and app service. But that's true for just all of your regular applications as well. And so what the ATC allows you to do and it being is just part of work the Azure Marketplace. You just go into the marketplace click on the image deploy it and now hey look you are connecting your Azure infrastructure with your
with your Citrix on-premise manager infrastructure versus the netscaler interface you already understand and the the ATC then allows that from a low-down some perspective from from an SSL and security and everything else perspective as well. Then the other side to that is SV wehen or software software software defined wide area networking SD. When is a really compelling conversation that we're having with most of our customers now and then not working space both in the Azure. So if you have an application running in Azure and you want to use SD wan
to intelligently rap rap rap rap send traffic to it it makes sense but it really makes a difference when you're also talking about Office 365 when I go back to the statement of Microsoft has three clouds a lot of people assume that all office is azure and Asher's office. They're not actually there are data centers out there that are as your only and there are data centers out there that our office only and the intelligence of SV wehen. And what we're doing is we can drop an SD wind Appliance in your organization into a remote office and intelligently Route traffic, so If it's
a just regular internet traffic, let's not take up your expensive type type but send that to send that to the internet if this is teams based traffic. Okay, great, lets send that automatically to the correct Office 365 point so that their voice and video is far better than anything you can do without that intelligent and then if it's part of your sap or epic or whatever other solution you're using you can then in bed that on your your standard when pipes and so it intelligently separating that that content and sending it to the right Source even if you don't know where the where
that current source is we do and we do that because the partnership we have in Microsoft. We were there day one launch partner for a 65 and ties in very well with our overall netscaler ATC conversation. And if you're already a netscaler and yard and InTune customer in your audio looking / 365 That partnership is most likely things you already own and most likely things that we can just turn on in your organization now. and when you do that that the improvements and capabilities of just the
voice and video and even contextual to text they are typing so office running in the desktop not virtualized in any way not in the way you think about when you're sneaking Citrix is still dramatically accelerate it because of the magic we're doing behind the scenes in partnership with Microsoft because it has to be And then tying into the third piece of the puzzle and also the easiest piece of the Azure Citrix puzzle to use is analytics Microsoft making huge investments in what it's calling graph and graph in Microsoft world is as your ID
to tie the two systems together. So analytics is a huge chunk of what we're doing a partnership. The advertised but it's something that you don't have to worry about it cuz it's just automatically there. But with that said most of your here probably think about it the traditional Citrix virtual apps and desktop running on Azure until I met turn it over to the guy who probably knows more about it than anyone else. So I'm putting this slide over and probably many of you have seen it before possibly and it's not about
talking about each one of them. It's more to box saying we give you options. So you can have the control plane hosted by us or you can lift in ship that control plane crash or you could potentially have it on premises today, but you can use it as your as a Target as well. And those options are all available to you or in the same even connect to other clowns. So that's that's pretty much what is focusing on its the options that we gave you what we're suggesting is using Citrix
service and what I like Before I pushed through I want to show a kind of quick show up and who has seen or logged on to the Azure portal. Same time who feels different comfortable. Okay, well s about maybe 20% level 160. comfortable with Citrix cloud Okay, perfect. What are we doing now? I'm going to go through. It's about a quick appointment and we'll see how deep we go. Depending on time. Start a successful virtual after you going to do good planning to get a set your governance and you're going to do your deployment, but I can text it is way more boxes, but for 30
minutes. so let me start with a little demo here for those who have not seen. McLeod let me do this probably doesn't make it more comfortable for folks. So this is the actual portal. There is about 300 services in Azure networking. And in those that are virtual machines or storage does availability stats on so forth network interfaces and so forth. When you go to ask you if there's two main construct or active directory and their subscription robbed a lot of you know, both
Azure active directory is a dentist provider that you get if you got all 265 or you could ever create an Azure subscription you get that by default if you got an email by default as well. And then within a scription is where you can deploy resources within a subscription to a resource Group through social group is simply an envelope a grouping of different items that you can manage to gather here is or the key suggestion in here is make sure that different components
off your system or Define indifferent resource groups for two main reasons. So let me explain structure. I'd advise have it in single group or defending more than one group your Citrix. Let me show some of these parts you're near the demo for that was alive that we use. So in here if I can put 104. Add created three groups. When is the infra one is for the server Target and one for Windows client Target in real life together create one for Citrix infrastructure for the core infrastructure for your data plan where your profiles on other data points are and one for your target audience or Target.
Okay. That's the key thing. So I'm going to stop here at Asher again, and I'm going to go quickly through Citrix cloud. So for those doesn't see us Citrix cloud services, most of you probably have not yet, but we have a lot of other integration points with Mike stuff when we talked on and so forth for the purposes of discussion. That's the service we care about virtual apps and desktops. You construct I'd like to explain in Citrix. There's a concert called resource location.
And resource location is as it sounds at Target location where you can install your apps on desktop. It could be on Prime locations near it could be for my damn alarm. It could be gcp is to be AWS from that single-pane-of-glass. You can do all these different connection. The other thing is the identity of course, which is important for any discussion. And if I look at identity usually use your email as an identity, however, you can connect we also extend and you can add more important your aad identity that way that same user that you log on to Azure the yule, log on to your email. You
can also log on to Citrix Cloud 2 as an admin user as well. But in this case So those are the two things I want to quickly show before going back to this light. All right. So we talked we need to plan their surfing Constitution. This is lovely eye chart. You don't have to read that. You're welcome to take a photo of it, but there's a few things you need to consider when planning your appointment. If it's coating code is Citrix only subscription. I would always. Just give us full right to it and we'll manage if it's not I suggest
otherwise, I suggest you don't give a Citrix identity full access to subscription. Give us the access that we need to manage virtual assistant. Should you think of a muscle subscription that depends on your scale is simple number I say if you're doing more than a thousand be on with them across. Coming very soon. We're going to be increasing that capacity as your limits are 25,000 desktops per subscription. We tell you a thousand for different reasons because they have API limits and that we might sit. so keep that in mind there is a very very important
website like everyone to know who's architecting this and that would be the answer limit Hey, this is a big turd like on a weekly basis actually if I'm looking here for the beta 2 days ago and just tells you how many of anything you can do. How many can you put in a group how many BM can you put resource? How many i'ope do you get on the single desk and all the other key for your success? So I have a LinkedIn the deck to this very very long page. And if you ever wondering how many is 2 many subscriptions Citrix has thousands don't do with Citrix did but
it's very very common multiple. It's very common to have multiple especially off of a large project. If you have a large epic project in Citrus is going to be a small portion of it. Then it might make sense 1st at Citrus environment to live within the Epic. But if you're doing a large desktop-as-a-service solution or a Citrix as a primary thing, then citric should be its primaries subscription possibly even more than one subscription scription under the same 80 talents. So there's no worries there about identity.
All right. I think that's enough about subscription. Do you need to go through what regions are going to be using that depends on the residency, depending where you are in the world if you need to be in as regards we support that and we support public Kaiser. North Pacific region service availability. Sometimes you want to GPU muchin. So that's a decision points. You need to make we do not support secret or top secret if you know a Badger's I don't know we're allowed to talk about the address secret or top secret areas at their first rule can talk about it, but you can
take there are long-term stocks service software and run it in secret and top-secret just fine. We have customers doing Citrix in the security dissenters. They just don't use cloud service to do at these are traditional software, of course other things are proximity and so forth. But again, you can use things like at the ATC stop. All right. So that's the early part of the planning. I didn't talk about them. I'll talk about that. That's a that's a freaky thing in this
church world. So we talked about this shows a little bit. Okay, I'm going to break resource groups to different functional aspect. That's the thing about the resource Group in this case is that they can be an administrative and you can set role-based access control. So that means one admin can have access to the core infrastructure one. Another admin can only have access to the apps on desktop. The reality is astrocamp have the resources needed complex you'd rather do it that the group you can also say things like
clocks and so forth with thinks we're customers does or users don't mistakenly deleted or admin don't mistakenly released resources. And that's supposed to add Tide to if you got them bundled correctly. It's far easier to understand the cost and more importantly notice when something goes out of whack. If you're suddenly seeing and your core infrastructure a bill $5,000 more money in one month than the other that should not happen. Right? And so have you got
them broken up it's easier to notice price different differentiations and differences talking about the billing cycle start call Azure policy. But since that's what a lot of customers do we we delete them create VM to keep those tags because we believe those we can so that would save you money and we even believe the beach What what's referred to as your policy group policies and there's tons of them I delivered on Saturday and Sunday the first policy I put them there. Why do not allow
any of my students to deploy your G4 VMware G5, which is $10,000 a month customers to do at 3 for the VM sizes because you don't want your customer just to randomly create a VM or your consumers. I'm thinking thing is tagging. That's one thing that size 2. Chargeback if you have tags Lewis show in the Azure Bill and that how to break down marketing vs. Sales vs. Next thing is August. Like example Microsoft is trying to replicate them managed disks. They still have them because a lot of people use them. So if one of your add an alert, please use managers control.
You can even deny someone to use the right to use don't do friends don't let friends use on managed disks and sooner or later. They have like a counter up there that they see see that number go down, okay. So we thought about basic planning. Let's go to first thing I want to do is I'm going to create. I'm going to call this resource location. Send 105. That's simply a placeholder. The second thing you do is you would go to azure. And create a VM we refer to as Cloud connector in any resource connect in any resource location. You need to component cord plug connector.
That is our lady is going to that dries location. In this case. I created one in a Zur. This is simply a VM over here that has Windows OS so the second step is you go to that cloud connector. You download this lovely component. the play Come. And all I want to highlight is this simplicity? And it's second it should ask me to log on. I had the opening while back. I'm signing a hole that is on the fly's I mention. I have a lot of subscription. This is the one I'm going to be using. That's Citrix Cloud subscription. This is the one we just created here. That's the resource allocation. I'm
going to install it. So now what we did is we just kind of the first marriage point between Citrix cloud and Azure. This is going to be our Usher. So this should take like a couple of minutes there. Once this is done. We should go in here. and if I refresh that's as fast as I wanted to be. Okay close. if I refresh I expect that to be here. You see this yellow thing because what we're telling you is pleased that he's due to one is a single point. So now we did the first part of marriage which is that's that's the museum that we did. This second thing I'm going to do is tie the other end to it.
Where I'm going to go here and say 90 Jackson desktops from Citrix cloud. I got the purpose was not to show you everything it's more to show you the Simplicity. I'm standing here quickly tide schedule. I'm going to go to manage. If you haven't seen it since this came to let you know and you've been using for a long long time. Second thing we do is we say create hosting connection. So I'm going to had a lovely hosting Connection in here. I should have copied one thing before.
I swear he does live dinos because he knows it makes me nervous. I know. So we need to get the subscription ID. That's the first thing we need to get. and we're going to tell Citrix Cloud connect to this subscription I am here not too bad and I'm going to go add to connection. That's what we're further with. And again on the subscriptions, I don't don't accept subscriptions for all so you don't want hundreds but there's no reason to be afraid of more than one whatsoever with the subjects were closed
cuz it's pretty easy for us to collapse in later and consolidate if you want to cuz as low I said you're so you can use the same identity across all we already have multiple connections different subscriptions. So this is one in this case. You can also pick which environment as your Global or US Government which zone I'm going to use the one that was previously created in this case. next and you put a subscription ID. Do the name sin 105 and create new tell me you own that
subscription. That's pretty much what it's asking for. so what we're doing in this case is we are creating a new identity in Azure active directory. It's called service principal identity and we give it full access to the subscription. You might not like that. If you don't like that, you can manually create that service principal and you can pass it to us. But that's what we're doing in this case was that is done. This is the ongoing identity. Our application is going to use to authenticate to Azure, okay? And this
is done. We pick a region and so forth. So, I don't know if you know what there's no loss is going to take 15 more seconds. I don't know if I have any SIM network is my network. Next Impala this point of time just to highlight one thing. I connected Azure and Citrix cloud from there on it everything. You know you go get the machine catalog you go create a delivery group. All you do is point to that hosting connection and group. So in less than 5 hours in about 5 minutes, I was able to connect those two plants together. So let's talk about some considerations here.
that you would care. I mean it's simplistic to connect those two. But what about Network, how do you do it? The one thing I start by suggesting is you've got it Venus. For your infrastructure, you might have a different V net for your Citrix influx doctor. Similarly. Make sure you got a different Venus Venus is the V PC term in AWS World disappear as well. It should virtual Network. Make sure you have a separate Venus for your virtual Apple desktop. Make sure you have what's referred to as Network. That means like firewalling
not everything goes from one peanut to another because you don't want the user log on to that VM to be able to access other resources. They shouldn't. Okay and management of those resources. So how many buddy in the room still use config man? I love him Pigman and most is more than most common instances of management tools for Citrix out there on the desktop space and in the server world and so you can also just create at that point a network connection that allows your on-premise config man to manage your infrastructure of those DM's so you can use exactly
the same tools and processes are already using as long as you not working correctly and and take your management tools with you true is Splunk to True with whatever other management tools. This line has one purpose. I can talk about the MCS for an hour and the details of it, but the purpose is to tell you for those who are always excited today. You cannot do PDS in azraq. As a matter of fact you can I do pgs in any public Cloud today. So your image management solution in any public Cloud dancer tricks as can be machine creation Services under the hood. Did you give out the golden image
or the master image? We do some crap inside it create a snapshot of it and then replicated a thousand times what 100 * depending on the number of users you asked we do that to save money just a few specific case be allocated. I'm not paying why we do one step further Wilson to leave the disk. That way you're not even paying for the disc until you want to use it or when you turn it on so you can turn it on about couple hours earlier. Weequahic activity answer this cuz of Allah so that's that's nothing in here to compute. That's another this time decision do
the ends today. Probably I'm talking about the hundred different VM pipe. Which one do you pick? That's what was the question again? I'll tell you one thing. Don't take your on-premises. Oh, I have a server or VMS for court for Jay and forth. Its I tell you that it's not going to work. What works is the answer? It's going to be a bit of magic performance testing. It's a bit of profile in your application and understanding. What works best for you? I would suggest starting with Bonita if your graphics intensive or you can about Graphics we're talking about the end series
down below mv2 are coming shortly haven't ever done in serious wait for the MV to us and the end and answer is NVIDIA. So it's just that you didn't get the rent by the hours. I've been to pay for the thousand dollars of India cards to go to do Center. If your workload is computer intensive, I would say your starting point is an F or an F version 2. Okay one of those. If your workload is more memory-intensive, I would go to the DMV to series like the five or something of the sort. That's the decision Point. What type of Freon
should I use? Second decision Point what type of disc should I use in Azure standard HDD and SSD premium and Ultra 34 to get to too many reasons one of them we support the other three times today. If I'm telling you just pick one, you don't want to do homework. I'll tell you the standard HDD for two reasons reason number one. It's always gives you $500 to Godless of the size of the disc and it charges you by the amount of disk you use like even if you create the 128th get disc and you using for the charges if it's cheaper. The only thing that
standard HDD is that Microsoft doesn't guarantee the IRS and they said you were doing best effort to be 500, okay. If you're wondering did I also go to standard? This is tea that gives you 500 Dad gives you eye off depending on the side. That's because the problem so if you only need the 40 gal, you'll end up getting only 120 IHOP's current teeth. So you're forced to do at least 128 to get the bottom line. That's a key decision Point faster lower latency money,
and there's a huge difference between standard HD Infiniti premium standard HDD and go from there and Bentley see people making as a model their user and I never do that model the app with our cloud and you can blend then after appointment right with the xendesktop. I want to give them a workspace environment. You can give him a really skilled on workplace environment and then using Xanax stream in higher. Yo the graphic space stuff or higher and see to you if they have medium need hiring
process in so you can not have to pay for the maximum. The user's user might use during the month. They get to actually rent the Citrix or the Microsoft in the Azure workloads for the hiring thats but only when they use a siren apps, so use the benefits of citrus plus the benefits of cloud. It's all about cost per User. It's not about number of users on a VM. The last points here again, if you're randomly or not sure of your application profile. I'd suggest start with standard HD and the other big reason about that when you do premium at The Detour at the beach. It's a
different type of BMX Like a modified refer to it or did they change the temp driving that I know I'm geeking out but important point that thumb drive hold the page file for the OS. So with standard HDD, you get a bigger pagefile. You can go up to four times the memory if you pick the sfsu theater is the one that supports you do they give you enough to match the memory the ram. So again, if you haven't profile pic standard issue if you have picked the right one, and if you don't remember any of that, just remember just like every other pictures to play movie ever done changing
is not your friend. Don't let the Zen app for video Don't let it start paging or you're paying for stuff. You don't need it back. All right. So something up abilities. I said use the Deep family if you need memory use the app family if you high on CPU The optimal on the right hand side. We did some analysis and we found for the standard and workloads of office that the F-16 give you the best bang for buck. It's about some I can see the numbers like $0.02 per user per hour. I got that I wouldn't think that as a real number but that's gives you that this is the better one.
This is a better performing one. A few other things in your probably I hit on most of those. The one thing I'll go back here. You know, what's the one thing I want to add for you who are aware that we have a service called smart scale and smart scale in case off vdi or assign desktops. What we do is restart and shutdown VMS on specific schedule replacing that within you service coming soon soon. Like you see that lovely disclaimer down there. I'm going to stay within about two months is going to be the place by components called out to scare and the hearts of space can do it on loud bass or
time-based and you can even do tagging so it can do that auto scaling based on time for baseball Lowe's. Let me see if there's any fun things. We talked about before wrapping up the last minute that she wanted. I feel you seconds there a vdi plant on premises. You almost always have to oversee all your hard work choices because you can't read by so you bought the sand and it's really expensive controller or another whatever so UND keine end up having that always build at
fudgepacker at the higher space. That's not how you do Cloud fudge Factor lower because you can add resources to Cloud anytime you want that also means that we now need to look at scaling out 30 DM's running 15 users each or one user eat or whatever. Sometimes that's a cheaper alternative and easier alternative for you to manage than one VM weren't running 150 users and so understand the benefits of cloud understand the cost of cloud and and because Allows us to do things differently you get to scale if you get to start with the
minimum and add to it. If you don't if you're not happy with the results, you can't do that on purpose because you can we buy Hardware. So maybe if I think to what Michael said I did say that 16, which is a big instant give you the high scalability, but that's the least one you can shut down at shut off because if you put a hundred users on it the chances of you shutting it down his lower as opposed to taking smaller instances with let users than you can control that. I'm pointing you too. It's in the document to this lovely pale paper and the concept of it is not the number it's more how we
