Dr. Lynn Marie Morski is a Mayo Clinic-trained physician in family medicine and sports medicine, as well as an attorney and former adjunct law professor. She hosts two podcasts, Quit Happens and the Plant Medicine Podcast. She is also the founder of Plant Medicine.org, author of the book Quitting by Design, and the medical director for MarijuanaBreak.com.Dr. Morski worked at the Veterans Administration for nine years, and her biggest frustration during that time was that she was unable to discuss the benefits of many medications she knew could help the veterans she was serving, like cannabinoid treatments and psychedelic-assisted therapy. After leaving the VA in May of 2019, she made it her mission to help educate her fellow physicians on the plant medicines and entheogens that could bring life-changing relief to their patients, while also educating potential users on what options they could seek for treatment of their conditions beyond the pharmaceuticals they’re sold on commercials. In furtherance of this mission, she started the Plant Medicine Podcast to bring scientific researchers, practitioners, and those who have been personally affected by the healing powers of these plants together to help educate the public on what is possible and help further research and decriminalization of these substances.

I am a Physician Assistant with almost 5 years of experience in pain management. I saw first hand how CBD can help patients with chronic pain and that sparked my interest. I started a Wellness clinic specializing in Non-Opioid Pain Therapies and then started my own CBD line. It is important that my patients are able to obtain legitimate THC free products due to a lot of my patients being on pain medicine contracts. I obtained the registered trademark "Medically Assisted CBD" to bring more legitimacy to the CBD and show patients they have a trusted medical provider in this space.

About the talk

If you’re an avid PubMed-er (the Google of the academic world), you may have noticed a recent uptick in the number of studies published on cannabinoids. Even if you’ve never once used PubMed, the media stories on cannabis research flooding your social feeds is another good indicator of both the number of studies coming out and the increasingly interest from various outlets. With the approval of Epidiolex by the FDA, patients with severe pediatric epilepsy can now receive a prescription for GW Pharma’s CBD formulation. And in the coming years, we will likely see more cannabinoids approved as medicines for various conditions. Clinical trials are evaluating various cannabinoids for neurodegenerative disorders, gastrointestinal disease, respiratory conditions, infectious diseases, and cancer. And additional research is looking into solving some of the most challenging aspects of cannabinoid medicine, including dosing and method of delivery.

Serotonin syndrome relief have been thinking so I guess this CBD World thinking you know, hey, let's take some of these things from sublet World 00:00 putting together. We got a supercharged CBD oil that's really get home sooner than I do with it actually made it could but you also, you know, if 00:07 something has a medication for anxiety there take any supplements without knowing what didn't they can have some really bad side effects. So that's 00:14 kind of trend I'm seeing and I really Posh and patients when they bring me a bottle of oil does you're the one that hit or THC free and I've ordered 00:21

you get this. Where is the lab testing? Who is it from? Why are you positive for THC? When is his THC free and I got to pick out the clinic now, so 00:29 he's having discussions was just really be bad actors. Some people are doing it just because they want to help people and some people are doing it 00:35 because they just want to make money until I think just as his field gets more more popular people are trying to get more more money by changing their 00:42 Brandon are changing what they're putting into the into the bottles, but you don't have to order. I 00:51

don't want friends I have is is watching the brands and then getting into dispensaries 00:59 and dispensaries effectively to come in. My doctor's office is right. I mean it's crazy because it's even worse than the doctor's office has a 01:08 pharmaceutical sales rep going in, you know, and in trying to sell a drug is the same way into dispensaries now and it's but these dispensaries are 01:16 not regulated like doctor's office as soon as they're not supposed to prescribe. They're not doctors in and so so the advice that the consumers are 01:24

getting our from budtenders who I don't think there's any regulation California or anywhere of how they should be certified. So, I don't know. I don't 01:32 know who exactly was but that's a concerning trend for me. So she has an owner of breath and try to tailor their medical audiences, but just watching 01:41 what's happening in California. At least it's it's concerning. So I hope they can address this this pain in their future. 01:51 They're getting advice from these people that don't have eyes, but you and I were talking about earlier. 01:59
