Luís Martins, Business & Development, FRAVIZEL Luis Martins is a geologist with more than 35 years of experience in the exploration and mining sector. He graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon (1973) and has a MsC in Economic Geology from the same faculty (1995) and also several national and international post-graduation courses. He was a former Director of the Mineral Resources Department at the Geology and Mining Institute (the Geological Survey) and a former Director of the Mines and Quarries Department at the Directorate-General of Energy and Geology (the Mining Authority). He was the Portuguese representative on the “Raw Materials Supply Group” of DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission (June 2010-August 2012) and coordinator of the CYTED Ibero-American Network “Land Use Planning and Mineral Resources”. He has coordinated several national and international technical and research projects in the areas of mineral exploration, environmental geology, and mining heritage. He was also Colt Resources Inc. Vice-President Business & Development and CEO of Ozdogu Portugal Mining and Exploration Lda. Currently is also Vice-President of Assimagra, a Portuguese mining association, representing it at Euromines and President of the Cluster Portugal Mineral Resources. He is a member of the High-Level Group of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials and an associate of the Portuguese Association of Geologists.
View the profileProfessor Manuel Regueiro, holds a BSc Geology from the Complutense University of Madrid (1979). Since 2005 he is the Chief of External Affairs of the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME). He has been working (and still works) the last 20 years as a specialist on industrial minerals. Has been Associate Professor of the Department of Crystallography and Mineralogy of the School of Geology of the Complutense University of Madrid. As a researcher he has participated in over 30 research projects. As principal researcher, he has directed 6 research projects. He has a wide and recognized international reputation in his fields of knowledge. He is an active member of a number of scientific societies (Spanish Society of Ceramic & Glass (Member of the Board), Spanish Geological Society, Spanish Society for the Defense of the National Mining and Geological Heritage (former member of the Board)) and has very good relationships with many national mining industrial associations and its European counterparts (Spanish Stone Federation, Spanish National Aggregates Manufacturing Association, Spanish Industrial Minerals Association, etc.). Manuel Regueiro has been the President of the European Federation of Geologists, an organization where he served for two mandates (1996-1999 and 2007-2009) and is currently President of the Spanish Association of Professional Geologists (ICOG) and founding member and former Secretary of the NGO “World Geologists.”
View the profileDr. Alper Sezener received his BA in Philosophy, MSc and PhD in Anthropology from Hacettepe University. He studied in business development and leadership program at London Business School. Also, he is graduate candidate in Executive MBA Program of Bilkent University by the end of summer semester 2020. He has twenty years of professional work experience, including national and international construction, oil, natural gas projects and most recently mining operations. He is a Founder Chairman of the Social Impact Assessment Association and Secretary General of the Gold Miners Association in Turkey. He is certified Senior Sustainability Specialist, GRI Reporting Specialist and SA 8000 Internal Auditor. He has published articles and stories in various periodicals, as well as seven published books and five national literary awards in Turkey.
View the profileMehmet Yılmaz was born in 1964, Elazığ-Turkey. After completion of high school education, he continued with the graduation from the “Geological Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University” in Ankara. Mr. Yılmaz was employed by TUPRAG Metal Madencilik A.Ş., a subsidiary of Eldoradogold, as the field geologist just after the graduation in 1987. While he was working as exploration and senior geologist, he took the responsibility of PR/GR and permitting for TUPRAG in Turkey. He was actively involved with the development, PR/GR, and permitting of Kışladağ and Efemçukuru mines in Turkey. He is currently working as Chairman-Board of Directors of Tuprag and VP&General Manager of Turkey. Mehmet Yılmaz has also been in South Africa, Brasil, Mexico, USA, and Canada for work and learning about gold mining. Mr. Yılmaz is married and has a 26 years old daughter
