About speakers
Brendan Wallace is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Fifth Wall, where he guides the firm’s strategic vision. Prior to starting Fifth Wall, Brendan co-founded Identified, a workforce optimization data and analytics company that raised $33 million of venture funding and was acquired by Workday (NYSE: WKDY) in 2014. He also co-founded Cabify, the largest ridesharing service in Latin America, and has been an active investor, leading more than 60 angel investments including Bonobos, Dollar Shave Club, Lyft, SpaceX, Clutter, and Philz Coffee. Brendan started his career at Goldman Sachs in the real estate, hospitality, and gaming group before joining The Blackstone Group’s real estate private equity practice. Brendan is from New York City and currently lives in Venice. He graduated from Princeton University, where he received his BA in political science and economics. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
View the profileHugh is a member of the leadership team for Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM)’s Client Business with global responsibility for Institutional Client Strategy and the division’s Environmental, Social and Governance and Impact strategy. In addition, he is co-chair of the GSAM Sustainability Council. Hugh was previously co-head of Alternative Capital Markets and co-head of Hedge Fund Strategies. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1997 and was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Hugh worked in New York for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Boston Consulting Group. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Columbia College Board of Visitors, and serves as a trustee and Investment Committee chair of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Hugh earned a JD from Yale Law School and a BA from Columbia University, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

Would you mind just kind of starting with your role at Goldman Sachs and how Goldman is a company across all of its various businesses just things and approach sustainability. I'm a partner of the firm and I work within Goldman Sachs Asset Management where I lead, ESG, and client strategy efforts. I also coach our division Sustainability Council, which is composed of our senior investors
and Business Leaders from around the world and just the orient the audience and manages about 1.4 trillion dollars of client assets on the average institutions and individuals from all over on your question around sustainability is a firm We Believe versus the definition of matter sustainability involves activities that advance the pace and effectiveness of the climate transition that you need and accelerate inclusive economic growth. We've committed to helping the Floyd 750 billion dollars of capital across our financing investing in advisory activities by 2030 to
advance sustainability and within our asset management business. Our goal is to provide our clients with robust investment Solutions across asset classes an important part of doing this is considering the role that he is seeing those portfolios.
