About the talk
The concept of Social Value is transforming real estate as it embraces not only environmental issues but also the social and economic benefits that a development brings and at least addressing the ‘S’ in ESG. Come to this session to learn how to ‘value’ your development in terms of its contribution to society and how integrating social value into development will help expedite planning, engage with communities and deliver more value to investors.
About speakers
Following her degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Anna worked in the charitable sector for eight years supporting prisoners, ex-offenders and disadvantaged young people. Her different roles have included research, fundraising, business development and public affairs and she joined the Social Value Portal from the government and corporate partnerships team at The Prince’s Trust. Anna currently supports our public, private and third sector clients on bespoke projects that vary depending on where they are on their social value journey.
View the profileGuy Battle is a Sustainability Consultant with over 25 years of experience. Guy originally trained as an engineer and much of his early career was focused within the real estate industry, during which time he worked on many award-winning projects with internationally renowned architects. More recently, Guy was the lead partner for Sustainability at Deloitte LLP, where he worked closely with many corporates helping them solve some of the key sustainability challenges facing the world of corporate business. In September 2014, Guy set up The Sustainable Business Partnership and is now focused on unlocking the inherent social, environmental and financial opportunities that businesses should do to create value. In spring 2014, Guy supported Hazel Blears MP with a review of The Public Services (Social Value) Act with a series of cross party recommendations to Cabinet Office. Guy is passionate about the contribution that Business can make to improve our society and this has been one of the driving motivations behind the creation of The Social Value Portal.
