About speakers
David joined Argent in 1990, he was appointed Joint Chief Executive in 2006 and Managing Partner of the new Argent LLP in 2012. He is now Senior Partner of Argent and Chairman of the Argent Related Partnership. David isPresident of the British Property Federation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UKGBC. He is a Past President of the British Council for Offices, was one of the founding members and now ex-Chairman of both the Piccadilly Partnership in Manchester and the King’s Cross and St Pancras Business Partnership Ltd and is ex-Chairman of CityCo in Manchester. David read architecture at Cambridge and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and has served on a number of RIBA practice committees. David recently won EstatesGazette’s‘Outstanding Contribution to Property Award 2019’. In May 2015, David was awarded NW Insider Property Personality of the Year, and in April 2014, David jointly won the Property Week Personality of the Year Award with Roger Madelin.
View the profileMadeleine McDougall is the Managing Director, Global Head of the Real Estate & Housing team at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Maddie joined the bank in November 2014 as Head of Institutional, having previously been Head of International clients at pbb, where she covered Europe wide real estate financing from 2011-2014. She took up her current position in May 2017. Her role involves developing and leading the business activity for relationships across the Real Estate & Housing market with a specialist team based across the UK. Under her leadership, the business has continued to innovate with a £1bn Green financing fund and she is a keen supporter of initiatives to improve the sector’s sustainability
View the profileEmma is aDirector of NewRiver and sits on the Executive Committee.As Head of Asset Management, she has overarching responsibility for the financial and operational performance of the retail portfolio throughout the UK. Emma’s responsibilities also include oversight of New River’s property management and the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance programme. Emma is a qualified chartered surveyor with over 20years’ experience in the retail property market. Emma is a Board member of the High Street Task Force which provides guidance to help communities and local government transform their high streets and Emma also sits on the Commercial Committee of the British Property Federation.

Melanie began her working life as a Police Constable in the Metropolitan Police Service. She joined HM Customs in 1988 and subsequently held senior roles in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Office of the Rail Regulator and the Cabinet Office. Her role is to champion UK real estate and to promote a sustainable partnership between governments and the sector to deliver a high quality built environment.

I'm here also as potentially I guess it's a trustee of the UK GPC. So I have many vested interest in this particular subject just handed over the chairmanship of that to a colleague of mine.
