Rob Olson is Real Estate manager of Ingka Group (IKEA). As Real Estate manager you are responsible for a team that develops and maintains the Ingka Group Real Estate portfolio.The portfolio consists of over 600 buildings and includes stores, shopping centres, distribution centres, warehouses, and office buildings all over the world.Rob joined IKEA in 1998. One of the main reasons for joining was the IKEA vision, its culture and values. This has remained the driving forces behind his passion for growth at IKEA.Before moving to Sweden and prior to his current role, Rob worked with IKEA in the US for twenty years. He has extensive store experience this he believes is the best platform to understand customers and the IKEA business. While in the US organization he helped open two windfarms and secure PV panels on 90% of the roof tops. He also worked on implementing a living wage within the US organization and connected with President Obama on this topic. In his free time he loves to spend time with family and participate in obstacle course races.

The Ingka Group core business consists of IKEA Retail, which is 374 IKEA stores across 30 markets and counting. Each year we welcome 839 million visitors to these stores. This talk will focus on the need to act now in order to support climate change with sustainable solutions in Real Estate as well as the successes and challenges that Ingka/IKEA are facing in delivering this need. We will also take this opportunity to invite the entire real estate industry to come together as these challenges can't be solved alone.

Hello everyone. I'd like to start by welcoming all of you to the Reimagining Real Estate Sustainability Summit from the European perspective. I'm proud to represent and share IKEA's work around real estate and sustainability here today. I also hope to share our ideas plant some seeds and connect with future partners to help us all in our journey to become more sustainable. I'm Rob Olson the group real estate manager for Ingka based in Malmo, Sweden. I've been in the retail business for the past 30 years starting with Walmart and then joining IKEA in 1998 as we were opening a store just
outside of Chicago. I've been closely involved in a real estate activity since 2008 and the last three and a half years being responsible for maintaining and developing are large and growing real estate portfolio around the globe for those of you that do not know Inca. We are the largest franchise in the IKEA brand with an Inca we have over 600 buildings in 31 countries. 385 of those sites are IKEA stores and we continue to add more each year. We also own and operate shopping centers as well as logistics facilities and

Climate change is important for us as we are facing an unprecedented crisis over the last few months that has truly shaken our society.
