Married, it's so good to see. You are still glad that you were able to make it. This is certainly a rubicon's like no other four different ones you bring Allison. Some things are the same swag hydrated snack and a notebook for taking notes on. All the amazing tacos. I'm going to see and I'm here with all of my Ruby friends. Some things are also a little different this time. I think there's no conference Wi-Fi to apologize for so I guess that's good. And we've maybe got some kids or animals in the background. You may hear my son

play for a little bit. In fact, it may be there soon. Even though hopefully, we'll put you not disturb on. and we don't get to hang out like we normally would but there's something amazing in this different nature of a virtual conference. There are so many things that we can do. We hope that you're excited for our hallway track with spectacular activities? Like a mani-pedi party escape room DIY snack break and crafts in your own Zine and we have plenty of ways to still hang out with your friends.

And so, without further Ado, I'd like to officially welcome you to Rubicon. Make sure you stay active in slack. I've seen a lot of you already are. We've got a ruby ambassador's here will be hosting Adcock, Gatherings throughout the conference. Keep an eye out for those. I don't forget, you can do it to feel free to meet up with folks, for breakfast, lunch dinner, lemons, he's whatever. The right mealtime is by you. We even got a guide to getting started with hosting a virtual event, posted at Ruby comp.

Org crap under socializing. Are we have the always phenomenal? Adam company, who will be our emcee for the conference experience? Not to mention our incredible programs, chock-full of speakers, presenting, incredible content conference fun, workshops and a hallway. Track. Now, we always like to have people raise their hands in the audience to see how many Ruby cops people have been to, and how many people are experiencing their first really caught. So it's never going to use the Chromecast to full

functionality to help us with that. So hopefully you see a pole, pop-up, let us know how many do you want to do, and how many of you have been to a Rubicon for a few in the past? Oh, nice that you developed pouring. In lots of lots of first-timers and some returning is welcome. Alright. Alright next fall. Is this your first virtual conference or are you already of Frau? Or maybe both. Matlock. The first one. But lots of folks are Pros already. That is great.

Set up some tips, tricks and administrative announcements here in slack. And In Crowd cast, we ask that you please add pronouns to your name and you'll find a variety of channels menu. You already have the ones that are officially created by the conference. Start with underscore RC underscore, feel free to browse through all the channels. And if you create a channel what you want me to do, just leave off that underscore RC underscore at the beginning, so that we can see who's got what going on. There's a job Channel as well as a jobs listing sites, be at your table and

we have a forum where you can add any listings that you want for people to be aware of. So go to underscore RC and it's worth jobs in slack to get there like to the jobs. and as Allison mentioned about this handy page on the Ruby cops site, with lots of great general information for the conference Alright, so let's go over a few crowd cast tools. The chat on the side is open, many of you are using it right now and is viewable by everyone. This cat will also be saved and will be visible on the replay. And then in case you missed something within a few minutes or a

little bit after it's hot is over the recording, will be available and it will be the same blanket, all sort of look like this. To ask a question, you can click ask a question from the chat window before the available for most of the sessions. And I had to go to another session. You can check out the top left corner where you see all the various sessions that we have loaded into a craft cast. All right. Now, if you ever need to know what's going on, you can head to the Rubicon website and that /

prep as well or do the underscore RC underscored the TV schedule channel in Slack. Code of conduct. If there's a situation, please report it. Disconnected minor behavior such as an offensive joke. Over mark his handling of a social situation or it may be stalking or bullying behavior. In these situations, you feel comfortable. Please ask them to stock. Let them know that you feel uncomfortable. If you realize that, you may have inadvertently offended someone in this way, then apologize. Ginuwine. We all

make mistakes. Apologize. Shift your behavior. we still like to hear about any situation, even if you feel it's minor, For more information, go to the website, ribicoff. Org / policies. Alright, feel free to tweet about the conference. You can use this hashtag Ruby X 2020. Apparently we have a lot of slack channels. This includes a channel for every talk that's happening and they'll be q and A's in there. And we've got three private Affinity groups by POC lgbtq and for women

and there's also been some channels that that y'all have created. So feel free to go to the channels listings. Slack to see if they're more channels that you'd like to join. All right, we have so many thank yous to make because committing a conference has been in person for two decades to be compelling. Virtual experience was no easy feat. Thank you to the program committee who not only helped craft the program that you're all about to experience, helping run aspects of it as well. Thank you so much to our event.

Organizers to go. Put in a tireless. I'm out of work and just so, so, so many hours and making this happen. Thank you to our sponsors are diamonds. And finally a scholarship and engagement session, sponsors Vonage taxjar, absolute AWS Shopify, and DNS simple. Thank you also so much for your support. We could not do this conference without your generosity.

And thank you to all of you for participating. We're really excited to have you here. Finally, of course, if you are having technical difficulties, please go to the admin questions, Channel and slacks. Let's underscore RC underscore questions for the staff. You can also send a message in that channel 2 at work nysers a minute will ping the, the organizers group to get their attention. Now sit back, relax and enjoy ribacoff. We've got an excellent three days. Planned stayed here. And the keynote with Matt creator of Ruby.
