Haven Allen, chief executive officer and co-founder of mHub, is an entrepreneur and technology strategist who most recently concentrated on growing the manufacturing industry and strengthening its community throughout Chicagoland.
Haven Allen, chief executive officer and co-founder of mHUB, is an entrepreneur and technology strategist who most recently concentrated on growing the manufacturing industry and strengthening its community throughout Chicagoland. As an economic development strategist at World Business Chicago, he directed the Advisory Council for Chicagoland Manufacturing through which he established and led the implementation of an economic development agenda to support growth and job creation in the manufacturing sector. During his graduate education, Haven served as a Mayoral Fellow at the City of Chicago. As a fellow he provided research and analysis on policy initiatives dealing with infrastructure, electricity markets and municipal marketing. In order to give back to his country, Haven joined the Peace Corps and served as a community economic development volunteer in Panama where he worked to strengthen the management and leadership capacities of rural cooperatives and local organizations in order to increase economic opportunities. In addition, Haven was a small business owner in the production and publishing industry. In 2018, Haven was named to the Chicago Tribune Blue Sky Vault Blue Network of Chicago tech and innovation leaders and the 2018 Crain’s 40 under 40 class.View the profile

Haven. So you mentioned the first cohort of going to be industrial Internet of Things. Tell us more about that. What qualifies in does as industrial internet of things. If startup wants to participate in to Broad category is in our eyes. You know where we're seeing a lot of support, is everything from looking at greater visibility, and in more efficiency and transportation of goods to just basic Automation and Robotics and lots of different opportunities
and things like, internet of things, I know it's a new term, it's not new to Industry in the machine. But there are new opportunities with the Advent of 5G, on the ability to communicate, cloud-computing by certain collapse of pricing apartment. Great. How did you work with matter and other organizations to think about serving entrepreneurs and using the physical resources? You have your between organizations, like 1871 matter and mo we collectively support about 1000 startups. And I think it's somewhere around three thousand enemy and we wanted to
tap in, use our resources, to make, it's bigger than packed as possible. And I'm have that immediately met, you know, putting together a couple different project teams to develop ventilators, Hitman create an air-purifying respirator. Air Force of Darkness, a project catching legs on the face Shields with Nate, over twenty thousand of them in over two hundred of those are and then beyond that, you know, we engaged a bunch of Public Health officials hospitals and really try to understand what were the broader Tech needs
