Welcome to the 2021, Google for games, developer Summit and Greg Riley product for games on Android and play and I'm the tutorial in PC guided you through level one of today's Summit. The last year has brought many highs and lows. The pandemic has created numerous challenges and trials, both in our personal lives. And in the craft of game, making with more time spent at home. We know the people have turned to games for entertainment and to connect with friends and family around the world. How and why they play is changed. We dug into this last summer to better understand how the

pandemic was impacting Mobile gaming behaviors. We could clearly see installs and gameplay on the rise, and it was exciting to see this among Gamers of all types and across the world. In fact, 70% of survey, mobile gamers are playing more than ever before. Going a step deeper into the motivations for playing, we found two insights. The first is over. A third of gamers are playing More in order to connect with family and friends and over a quarter of playing more for escapism and distraction from daily life. The show does something important. The accelerator provides mentorship and education to help early-stage startup set up for successful launches in group. This year. We expanded the program to more than 70 countries. The festival provides promotional opportunities for top quality in the titles this year. We're hosting festivals in Europe, Japan and South Korea. With some news coming soon about how anyone from around the world will be able to attend this year. We've accepted submissions for both programs back in

There are a lot of product in platform updates from Android and play to share. Today. I want to take you through how we're making, Android game development easier updates on Android games running on more screens. And what's new with play to help you with your go to market success. Let's see what's new. Working with many developers, we continued our quest to make high-quality Android game development easier. With

more support for your CNC plus plus development, workflows, and managing the tools, and libraries that we've created over the years. We heard you. And today, we're organising all this into the Android game development kit. At the link, you see here, you'll find a full range of tools and libraries to help you develop optimize and deliver a high-quality Android game. There's three major areas to cover in this initial launch. The first is integrated tools for work flows. Next is essential C and C. Plus plus game libraries, you finally

performance optimization. The workflows we announced the preview of the Android game development extension for visual studio last year. This is a visual studio extension, for C & C, plus plus games in engines. It may belong to you to use Visual Studio workflows to create Android games. This extension, brings you up to Tools in sdks within your work environment, improve debugging tools, and a way to quickly launchkey. Android tools like logcat. It is also compatible with IDs like unreal and incredible. After a successful preview, we're making it available to

all developers today. Next. We have a central game. Libraries were expanding the Android game SDK as a suite of game, making libraries to cover several core use cases and reduce the amount of java to see bridging that you do. To date. This SDK is included, frame, pacing, and a high performance audio library. Today. We're adding three new libraries first. There's a new game activity, providing all the C interfaces you need on Android phone screen rotation to Apple life cycle event. It's also compatible with all of your favorite of java libraries. Next is our game input

And lastly we have a new game controller Epi to help you support a range of game controllers, including popular first-party console controllers to the game developer kit. Geforce.now was also introduced as a Chrome web app to experience hundreds of favorite PC games on Chromebooks. Also Unity recently introduced support for Chrome OS on Unity 2021 and was support for version 2020. Coming later this year. You can join the growing number of developers building

for Chrome OS today to access this rapidly growing audience. Year-over-year. We've also seen 30% more people start using Android tablets and games. Remain one of the top reasons to own a tablet, and an important device for you to design for, We recently launched entertainment space on several partner tablet. A One-Stop personalized home for all your favorite movies, shows books, and games, the games tab in the entertainment, space Health players. Continue, the games they play from the home screen and explore new and recommended games. You'll find

Let's switch to some exciting, Google Play updates that can help you. Go to market more effectively. I'll start with distribution. We retain 4.8 times higher than users acquired through ad campaigns for installs. After launch app campaigns can also be used for open testing to drive more users during your beta test. Enabling you to get results faster. And a quick update on Google Play, pass our monthly subscription, with hundreds of great games and apps without ads or in-app purchases. We've expanded it to 90

countries with over 800 games and developers have on an average more than double their play Revenue across participating titles in these regions. We're invested in the success of our play. Pass Partners in several ways, including the use of Google Play's, new automatic Integrity protection.
