About the talk
In the last decade, whisky has evolved from a traditional spirit that’s been the historic domain of just four or five nations, into a global phenomenon produced in over 35 countries worldwide. This evolution is led by a community of innovative distillers and blenders who are leaning on their local culture and heritage, collaborating with other industries and adopting new production techniques in their search for greater flavour. Some call them emerging distillers; others view them as representing a new world of whisky.
So how does this new world appeal to the next generation of whisky consumer who’s younger, more adventurous and thirsty for new experiences? In this seminar, Becky Paskin, whisky writer and co-founder of OurWhisky, will explore the global changes in the whisky landscape, major innovations driving flavour and how the category can attract and retain new whisky drinkers.
