Allen Hillery is the co-founder of Be Data Lit (https://bedatalit.com/), an educational resource for data literacy advocates. In addition to launching BDL, Allen is a teacher's assistant who develops training programs and hosts workshops on data literacy and data storytelling. Allen has a data career that spans 20 years in data reporting, analytics and storytelling supporting sales and marketing teams with insights to drive their business. Allen has a Bachelor's of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the City College of New York and a Master's of Science in Management Information Systems from Baruch College. Although his path to data has been a more technical one, he's here to help you understand that it’s not the only journey. His favorite quote is - "You don’t have to be a data scientist to be data literate." Allen is a data storyteller who’s passionate about building community and spotlighting notable figures who used data to make an impact on society.
