Dr Rid is Professor of Strategic Studies at Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies. His seminal 2013 book, Why Cyber War Will Not Take Place, argued that the real challenge of cyberspace was non-violent confrontation that might rival or even replace violence in surprising ways. His most recent book is Active Measures: The Secret History of Disinformation and Political Warfare.

Mr. Orde Kittrie is Professor of Law at Arizona State University, and is a recognized authority on international law and nonproliferation policy. Prior to entering academia, he served for 11 years in the State Department. His most recent book is Lawfare: Law as a Weapon of War.
