Former hedge fund manager who retired at 36, Raoul Pal is a Co-founder of Real Vision, a financial media company offering in-depth video interviews and research publications from the world’s best investors. He has run a successful global macro hedge fund, co-managed Goldman Sachs’ hedge fund sales business in Equities and Equity Derivatives in Europe, and helped design the BBC TV program Million Dollar Traders, training participants in investment and risk management strategy. Raoul retired from managing client money and now lives in the Cayman Islands, from where he manages Real Vision and writes for The Global Macro Investor, a highly regarded original research service for hedge funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and other elite investors.
View the profileLeah Wald is the CEO of Valkyrie. Leah recently served as the VP of Portfolio Management at Exponential. Previously she served as a Partner at Lucid Investments, an asset management firm where she launched their bitcoin investment arm. Leah began her career working at the World Bank in the Africa Region. After completing her business degree, she worked as a financial analyst reporting directly to the CEO to develop investment strategies for two of the world's top-performing multi-billion dollar asset managers on Japan, Asia, and global macro strategy. She specialized in equity trades as well as M&A and LBO opportunities rooted in macroeconomic trends and fundamental analysis. She additionally worked as a deal sourcing consultant for three venture capital firms focusing on FinTech investments. Leah co-founded Veterati in response to the significant employment challenges facing 1.5 million veterans coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq. She also served as a founding economic advisor to Naadam Cashmere to build their development fund in Mongolia assisting the nomadic goat herders. She was a contributing writer for Forbes where she wrote the column "Tales From the Front Lines of Female Entrepreneurship" and co-authored the book Hyperwave Theory: The Rogue Waves of Financial Markets.
View the profileAlex Mashinsky is an entrepreneur who has founded several notable technology firms in the United States. He founded Arbinet in 1996 as a commodity exchange for telecommunication companies to trade unused long-distance minutes. Mashinsky's other company, VoiceSmart, was one of the first firms to offer telecommunications switches to handle ordinary voice as well as Voice over IP call routing. Mashinsky later founded GroundLink in 2004 as a service to book an on-demand limousine and car services from a computer or smartphone. He was also the founder of Q-Wireless, which later became part of Transit Wireless. From 2014 to 2015, Mashinsky served as CEO of Novatel. He currently serves as CEO of the Celsius Network which is a CeFi lending platform operated by use of blockchain technologies. Mashinsky lives in New York City with his wife Krissy Mashinsky and 6 children.
