Emonee LaRussa is a 25-year old with a Bachelors in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. She discovered her passion for film and motion graphics in high school took her two years of higher-level film courses in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. She has consistently been working full time film jobs since graduating high school and received numerous awards for her achievements such as: “Best Editor” at the 2013 Sacramento Intercollegiate 48-hour Film Challenge. “Best New Story” and “Best Title Sequence” at the 2014 Next Talent Awards, “Best Sound Design” and “Best Graphics” at the 2015 Next Talent Awards, “Best Holiday Campaign” at the national PromaxBDA awards, and her biggest achievement yet, her nominations at the 2017 Emmy’s for her Cinematography and VFX . She hopes to further her dreams in motion graphics in either television or film.

Outside of work, I am a huge nerd, always up-to-date on anything Marvel or Star Wars, plus am big into VR gaming and can't get enough of the NFT/Crypto community. I live and breath research, innovation and entrepreneurship. I have helped design innovation clusters/centres across Ontario and have created some of the most successful business support programs for start-ups and medium-sized companies. Right now I am digging deep into how the Metaverse will impact science, innovation, business and society. I am particularly interested how AR/VR can be used to enhance education and training; and what post-secondary education will look like in the coming years.
