About speaker
Nick Spanos is one of the earliest adopters and innovators in the blockchain space. He is best known for launching Bitcoin Center NYC, the world’s first live cryptocurrency exchange, in 2013, right next to the New York Stock Exchange – as immortalized in the only Netflix documentary on cryptocurrency, “Banking on Bitcoin.” Spanos is also the co-founder of Zap.org, which is pioneering the use of oracles to connect real-world data to smart contracts, as well as the CEO of Blocktech, an international blockchain venture studio. Spanos has pioneered applications of blockchain technology in the fields of voting, oil and gas, and ATMs, and holds some of the earliest blockchain patents granted in the U.S. Passionate about education and blockchain innovation, Spanos has lectured in over twenty countries, including Iraq, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Armenia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Dubai.
