James grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa and his family has been doing international business in the region for three generations, mainly investing in local infrastructure that helps develop local rural communities. James is a serial entrepreneur and avid investor and became involved with the crypto community starting in 2015 as a personal contributor. In 2017, he launched Black Panther Capital’s first blockchain FoF which invested in 10+ top tier token funds globally and also participated in Coinbase, Bitmain, Messari, and other well established industry leaders. Personally, James has also been a blockchain/crypto advocate throughout the years and personal advisor to many prominent organizations and institutions. James was invited to the Davos World Economic Forum as a blockchain forum panelist in Jan 2020 and spoke at the Singapore FinTech Week on the future of cryptocurrency in 2019, and usually known to the public as the “African guru”. James graduated from New York University with a B.S in Computer Science.

Tessy Mosindi is Head of Computer Science and COO and Co-founder at an Indie blockchain games company, Kingdom of Kush. She is also Founder of a non-profit that empowers disadvantaged African and Caribbean girls. With over 20 years of experience building businesses, Tessy’s main focus remains championing underrepresented communities. She has done so by founding Educating Africa, a non profit organisation focused on alleviating poverty through the education of African & Caribbean girls. As Head of Computer Science in a secondary school, she developed strategies to mitigate the gender gap in Computer Science. Additionally, as an angel investor in emerging markets, she invests in startups with diverse teams that identify pain points for usually marginalised groups. Her previous experience includes building tech startups in the entertainment, services, clothing and Afro hair industry, mentoring women to develop their business and also creating communities for Black & Asian teachers in the UK. She currently serves as co-founder of Kingdom of Kush which builds projects to empower and educate stakeholders in blockchain through gaming. Their game Siege is the first free-to-play Afro-fantasy NFT game with dedicated blockchain mechanics.

Jay Shapiro is Founder and CEO of Usiku Games. He has a 20 year track record as a successful entrepreneur, digital marketer and visionary strategist. After leaving Canada in 1995, Jay moved to Asia and completed his MBA at the National University of Singapore. He went on to launch BLUE, which would become one of the largest digital marketing agencies in the world. Jay then partnered with CTO David Hoare to create AppMakr, a no-code mobile app publishing platform which helped over 3 million small businesses around the world to launch their first native mobile app. Having two successful ventures acquired, Jay and his family moved to Africa, to create Usiku Games – a social impact gaming company. Through Usiku Games, Jay has set upon his largest challenge yet, to create the multi billion dollar gaming industry across the continent. Jay has advised some of the top brands in the world, including: HP, Cisco, Singapore Airlines, Johnson & Johnson, and Proctor & Gamble. Cordel Robbin-Coker is Co-Founder and CEO of Carry1st, the leading mobile games publisher and digital commerce platform for Africa. Prior to founding Carry1st, Cordel spent over a decade in private equity and investment banking with The Carlyle Group and Morgan Stanley, across the US, Europe, and Africa. He most recently served as Vice President in the $700 million Carlyle Sub-Saharan Africa fund; and prior to that, served as aide to Carlyle executives Bill Conway and Ed Mathias. Cordel serves as Director and Treasurer of the Milton Hershey School, a K12 boarding school for underprivileged children, and the Hershey Trust Company which manages its ~$20 billion endowment. He also serves as a Venture Scout for Andreesen Horowitz; Venture Partner for Adaverse (Cardano blockchain accelerator); and Venture Partner for The Raba Partnership (fintech VC). Cordel is a graduate of Stanford University and a native of Sierra Leone.

Jackson Vaughan is a Managing Partner at Konvoy, investing in platforms and technologies at the frontier of gaming. He sits on the board of Edgegap, Carry1st, Echo3D, and StageZero. Jackson was previously a software developer at IBM, is an alumnus of NYU Stern, and grew up as a third culture kid across Asia, Africa, and Central/South America.

Bundle is an Africa-focused social payments app for cash and crypto, aiming to drive crypto adoption in Africa and bringing more economic freedom and prosperity to all Africans. Yele is focused on developing the blockchain ecosystem in Africa, accelerating Africa’s transition into a sustainable and developed economy by leveraging capital, innovation and policy. He is a Founding Partner at Microtraction, which funds Africa’s most remarkable teams at early-stage startups across multiple sectors including finance and cryptocurrency. Previously, he was a Director at Binance Labs, leading the Africa chapter of the Binance Labs Incubation Program–and General Manager of Starta Africa, an online community and resource platform for African entrepreneurs. He is a self-taught designer and developer and has created multiple apps and products, including a social app connecting university students in the UK. Yele holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from King’s College London.
