I have a Master's degree in mathematics, and I am nearing the completion of a Ph.D. in computer science. My main areas of specialization are formal languages and logic, computability (recursion theory) and category theory. The topic of my thesis is "Formalizing abstract computability : Turing categories in Coq". I have two secondary areas of specialization, databases and algorithms, which were the subjects of my comprehensive examinations. I gained experience working with Postgresql during the time I was a TA for a database administration class in 2017 which required the use of this software, and had a major role in designing and organizing the class. I also have experience working with SQL Server, which I gained during the time I worked for the Government of Canada (during the years 2007-2011). This position included a number of database administration duties. I also have experience working with a number of other programming languages and types of software, including Java, C, C++, LaTeX, SciLab, SAS, Prolog, VB(.NET), etc. I am most proficient with algorithms related to data structures, graphs, and computational geometry. I am also familiar with standard cryptographic protocols and concepts and am very keen on gaining practical cryptologic experience. Another serious interest of mine is GIS, and I would be thrilled to gain experience working on on a project involving computational aspects of GIS.
